SOLD A Genuine 10K Gold Antique Victorian Brooch Pin Pendant with a Gorgeous Claw Prong-set Fire Opal Gemstone Raised High embellished with Lustrous Seed Pearls on a 10K Gold Pinwheel Flower Scrollwork Setting, Weight 1.8 Grams circa 1890's!
Measurements are 3/4" in diameter.
The Victorians wore jewelry not only as a Decorative Accessory but also as an outward expression of their inner most sentimental feelings. Seed Pearls often represented the tears one shed and also stood for purity and innocence. Seed pearls were popular throughout the Victorian to the Art Nouveau Era.
This Victorian Brooch is in Excellent condition. The Opal has colors in Brilliant Blue, Neon Green, Bold Orange and Sunny Yellow. The Pearls are all intact. There are no chips or cracks to the Pearls or Opal. The back has a replacement safety catch clasp professionally jeweler mounted. The 10K most likely was stamped on the former C Clasp. The Gold absolutely tested as 10K and is guaranteed. The Stem and Hinge are original to the Pin. There is a Top Loop in back to wear it as a pendant too. A fine chain can fit through it. A True Beauty!
