Vintage 830 Silver NORWEGIAN Solje WEDDING Brooch
A Romantic Vintage 830 Silver Norwegian Solje Wedding embellished with Filigree Medallions and Dangling Spoons on a Circular Cannetille Setting, C Clasp Closure, Hallmarked, Weight 5.6 Grams circa 1930 to 1940s!
Measurements are approx. 1-3/4" in length by 1" in width.
This Lacy Solje Wedding Brooch has Three Tiers of Filigree Medallions shaped like Fleur de Lis with dangling Spoons. The back is hallmarked 830 with an S and a makers mark which is undecipherable. Excellent condition with a lovely patina; all parts intact. Solje Wedding Brooches were traditionally given as a gift for weddings, and as an embellishment for Norwegian Costumes. The Spoons were believed to protect the wearer from evil and brought the bearer good luck. So feminine and beautiful as a gift for a Bride!
